God has a unique and interesting way of weaving together relationships for His glory. In August of 2017, Hurricane Harvey arrived as an unwelcome guest on the shores of Texas. Following the aftermath, God assembled a group of workers to work out of New Shores Baptist Church in Sweeny, Texas. The workers arrived from East Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, North Texas and Rhode Island. As we labored together, God was busy weaving together relationships to join Him in His work in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2020. The Rhode Island relationship was/is a member of Grace Harbor Church in Providence, Rhode Island. Through this relationship a conversation occurred concerning help with a new church plant. Over the past several years the church plant has gained momentum. By the end of 2019, a building had been donated to those planting the church and financial resources had been raised to remodel said building. The clarion call was issued for labors to help with the remodel. Hearing this clarion call, a call was made from East Texas to the North Carolina relationship from Hurricane Harvey. The North Carolina relationship and their church responded to the clarion call and has been faithfully providing remodel leadership since the second week in January 2020. Recently, February 15-22, 2020, I made a trip to join in the work of God in New Bedford. Below are pictures of the remodel process.
Please be in prayer as the remodel has a deadline of March 21, 2020. A time is scheduled on Sunday evening March 22, 2020 for the charter members to sign the church covenant and to install the Elders leading the new work known as Grace Harbor Church New Bedford, Massachusetts. The first full worship service by this body of believers, in this newly renovated church building, will take place Easter Sunday April 12, 2020.
Praise God for His Amazing Work and the opportunity to join Him!
